1944 Going My Way

1944 Going My Way

Going My Way was the next movie I watched after Tom Jones (more on that later), and within 15 minutes Tyler
was declaring it 100% better.  Of course, pretty much anything is better than Tom Jones.

Father O'Malley and Father Fitzgibbon

It was actually a very sweet movie about a priest, Father O'Malley (played by Bing Crosby) taking over a struggling parish.  The resident priest, Father Fitzgibbon, has been there 40 years and is hesitant about O'Malley's methods.  O'Malley wins everyone over by consistently being an overall great guy -he helps out people in need, particularly a boy gang that he transforms into a church choir.

Bing Crosby was really charismatic and likeable, and needless to say he sings beautifully.
